Our Story
The Vintage House has been part of the fabric of Soho since the 1940s. Situated at 42 Old Compton Street, in the heart of one of London's most iconic neighbourhoods, we are one of London's longest-established independent specialist whisky and spirits retailers.
For more than eight decades, The Vintage House has built its reputation around something very simple: exceptional bottles, genuine knowledge and personal service. Today, our shelves are home to more than 1,300 whiskies, ranging from celebrated Scotch single malts and independent bottlings to rare, old and discontinued releases that can be extremely difficult to find elsewhere.
Our collection extends far beyond Scotland. We champion great whisky from Ireland, Japan, America, England, Wales and emerging whisky-producing regions around the world. Alongside whisky, you'll discover an extensive selection of fine and rare spirits, including Cognac, Armagnac, rum, gin, vodka, port and sherry, as well as carefully selected wines and Champagne.
What makes The Vintage House particularly special is its history. This isn't a modern whisky shop designed to look traditional; generations of customers, collectors, bartenders and whisky makers have walked through our doors. Soho has changed enormously around us, but our commitment to independent retailing, specialist knowledge and discovering extraordinary bottles has remained.
And the story doesn't end at the shop.
Sitting directly above The Vintage House is Soho Whisky Club, our private members' club and one of London's most distinctive destinations for whisky lovers. Since opening in 2012, the club has become a meeting place for enthusiasts, collectors and people working throughout the drinks industry, hosting tastings and events with distillers, master blenders, independent bottlers and brand ambassadors from around the world.
Together, The Vintage House and Soho Whisky Club offer something increasingly rare in London: a place where you can discover a bottle downstairs, explore it upstairs and become part of the community surrounding it.

RARE & COLLECTABLE
Step inside The Vintage House and discover an extraordinary collection of rare and collectable bottles, built over decades in the heart of Soho. Our shelves are home to some of the most sought-after releases from The Macallan, Ardbeg, Springbank, Glenfarclas, Bowmore, Highland Park, Lagavulin, Laphroaig, GlenDronach and many more — from discontinued expressions and older vintages to limited releases and bottles rarely seen on the open market.
And it doesn't stop at whisky. Our cellars also hold an exceptional selection of fine and rare wines, vintage Champagne, Cognac, Armagnac and other remarkable spirits.
What you see in our online Click & Collect store is only the tip of the iceberg. With such a large and ever-changing collection, many of the bottles sitting on our shelves never make it online.

THE VINTAGE HOUSE SESSIONS
From informal in-store barrel-top tastings to exclusive evenings opening bottles from deep within our cellars, The Vintage House Sessions are all about sharing remarkable whisky. Expect aged expressions, rare and discontinued bottlings, forgotten gems and the occasional bottle we've simply decided is too good not to open.
